Golf Handicap

While it isn’t an official handicap (although that may change) recognized through the GHIN, this tool will 100% accurately reflect your handicap. It’s still in “Beta” (not finished) format, but soon it will have added features that will enable you to see exactly how you play depending on overall course conditions as well as weather conditions. You’ll be able to track how you play individual courses and what your handicap is on any individual course. It may be overkill, but I personally like to analyze all the information about my game that I can. If you don’t, no worries there either, as you can simply enter your scores and track your handicap just as you would if you had an official handicap from your local club.

Why did I write this? Well, personally I find that having a “handicap” didn’t really tell the whole story. It was simply a number. I couldn’t use this information to accurately tell me if I was improving or declining in any aspect of my game. As an example, last year I was a 10.5 however couldn’t seem to make a “save” or “up and down” to help my scores. Have I improved this year? Well my handicap is now a 15.7. What exactly is that telling me? Of course it’s saying my scoring isn’t as good as last year, but am I playing different tees? Oh, and what if I’m making more saves - nope, the number doesn’t help me decide what I need to improve upon. Hopefully you get what I’m saying. The handicap number alone is not a great reflector of where my overall game stands. With this tool (when officially finished) I look to remedy that. No, I’m not saying that having a low handicap means you aren’t a solid player or that a high number isn’t an “accurate” reflection of your overall game, I’m just saying that I think with added information and tracking, it can mean a whole lot more.

Sure, there are other sites that offer a handicap tool, but this one is going to be so much better! So enjoy, and leave feedback (PLEASE) it’s the only way for me to know if it’s working for you too!

Ok, enough about how great it is - here’s the link! http://www.coloradogolfing.com/GolfHandicap
