The Golf Ball

Some people may not know that in tournament play, you are not allowed to “change” your ball. Now, it’s not that you can’t actually start with say a Callaway HX Tour 56 and after a few hits (for me, off the cart path) notice that it’s a bit scuffed reach into your bag and grab another HX Tour 56. You are perfectly within the rules if you perform that act. However, if you pull out a Titleist Pro-V 1X (staying with the “x” theme here) and play any portion of your round with that ball, you would effectively have disqualified yourself from the round and more than likely the tournament. This is true for “provisional” balls as well! So the next tournament you enter, be sure an bring only the SAME ball type, and you’ll have one less thing to think about!
